Watch the pros
The 2026 Australian Pickleball Cup is being held at Pat Rafter Arena, bringing PPA Tour players to Brisbane alongside the best from Australia and New Zealand. It's billed as the strongest field and richest prize purse in the sport's Australian history. Worth a look, then quietly change your whole technique.
A note on Brisbane balls
Most Brisbane courts are outdoor hard courts, and outdoor balls take a beating on rough concrete and asphalt. Heat and humidity don't help, and summer storms make outdoor courts unplayable for days. If your ball looks egg-shaped or has a hairline crack near the holes, it's done. More in how long pickleballs actually last and indoor vs outdoor pickleball balls.
